This beautiful hand woven tapestry from Burano, Italy (Venice) is a wonderful depiction of ancient Venice through the art of tapestry making. This piece was hand selected by us from the lace maker in Burano, Italy. Burano, a small island off of Venice, Italy, is world famous for its art of lace making and tapestry making. The tapestry is 100% handmade in Burano by expert lace makers and not a “Burano or Venetian Styled” tapestry. This piece is authentic Burano and Venetian art.

A wonderfully detailed scene of life in the “Piazzetta di San Marco” (or the small Saint Mark’s Square) of old; the tapestry is handmade using silk thread, wool and precision detail is given to the artistry of weaving. The use of soft colors gives the tapestry the element of antiquity. A marvelous accent to any room; this tapestry brings forth a piece of Venetian nostalgia. It is difficult to get a precise idea of the beauty of this tapestry through photos; its true beauty is seen and appreciated in real life.

Liberal use of dusty rose, pale greens and shadows of blue can be seen throughout this Venetian tapestry; making it a wonderful complement and accent to any worldly home or office.

The tapestry comes with two runner loops on top that match the tapestry’s border. This piece should only be dry cleaned sparingly. While the tapestry will last a lifetime if treated properly; it is also a delicate piece and should be handled accordingly.
